Bourtons New Bus service - How is the Trial Going?
Posted by Julie Tomlin on Mar 28 2011A few niggles have been reported to Geoff Amos who are working with the District Councillor and Bourtons Parish Council to find solutions. So:
- Apologies to those in Little Bourton who saw the bus go past them without stopping on the second day of the trial. The driver "no longer works for us" and it shouldn't happen again. Let us know if it does!
- Apologies also to those who have missed the bus as it left the villages early. I noted that some buses left Great Bourton 8 minutes early and this is being looked at. The bus route diversion happened before the A361 actually closed (the road closures were delayed) and the timetable allowed for slower journey times because of the road closures. So buses were ahead of timetable and didn't wait at intermediate stops. The route times are slower now that the work has started and Geoff Amos are reviewing whether a timetable change is needed... Any changes will be reported on this website if they happen.
- Thanks to those who have given the bus service a try. Geoff Amos are pleased to have your business (as are Stagecoach if you are using their services as an alternative) and Bourtons Parish Council are delighted to hear that passenger numbers look promising. Car parking charges are increasing in Banbury so even more reason to give the bus service a try...
