Hourly bus service from 21st March 2011!

Posted by Julie Tomlin on Jan 14 2011

As the GA01 is being diverted through Bourtons and Cropredy for the duration of the Banbury Flood Alleviation works, Geoff Amos have agreed to a 17 week trial operating the service with bus stops in Williamscot, Cropredy, Great Bourton and Little Bourton.

This means that there will be a bus every hour from our villages to Banbury; and in the opposite direction to Cropredy, Williamscot, Wardington, Chipping Warden, Byfield and Woodford Halse.

The bus to Banbury will pick up from Great Bourton on the hour, every hour, from 8am to 5pm.

It will pick up from Little Bourton at 2 minutes past the hour, every hour, from 8.02am to 5.02pm.

The return from Banbury will depart at 10 minutes past the hour from Bridge Street (Debenhams) from 8.10am to 5.10pm.

The route will include request stops at the Crematorium and Tescos, and will include stops at Morrisons and the Horton Hospital.

The service operates 6 days a week, Monday to Saturday.  It does not operate on Bank Holidays.

Bourtons Parish Council wish to thank District Cllr Ken Atack for his help and persistence in bringing this service to the Bourtons - Work we started on together nearly 4 years ago.  This is a trial which will operate during the flood alleviation works.  If we show that the service is used and needed then Geoff Amos may consider continuing with the route - It is up to us all now to use it!

A full timetable can be seen here.
