The Bourtons in the Cropredy Archives
Posted by Julie Tomlin on Sep 20 2011This message was received via Bourtons.net from the team putting the Cropredy Archives onto CD:
I am part of the group putting the Cropredy archives onto CDs.
In the five years since we started, we have done 113 CDs which include a lot of information about the Bourtons.
The next three files I have to edit are
"Great Bourton* file 1 (200 pages)
"Great Bourton" file 2 (100 pages)
"Great & Little Bourton" File 3 (235 pages)
This should take me two to three months.
There has been a tentative suggestion that we keep the collection together but divided into two sections
A:-Those files specifically labelled the "Bourtons"
B:- Those files specifically labelled " Cropredy"
(although many other nearby villages, including the Bourtons, are mentioned in the Cropredy files)
Could you let me have your thoughts please ?
There is a CD available which is a PDF index to all the files done so far.
If you have any thoughts on this then please use the contact us on this website and we will forward any suggestions to the Cropredy team. We are in discussion re the possibility of doing a presentation in the Bourtons of what these records are and what we can learn from them, so do watch this space...
